Is that why our left winger scored both goals and our only other decent chances came from crosses into Bendtner?
Triggle, your not that slow. Nasri scored the second from the fucking exact middle of the park, with most of that build up play, including Cesc making a mug of Neville, in the middle.
He scored from the middle, but the passage of play was not done straight through the middle of the park. It was moved from side to side, and Nasri's movement into the middle from the wing was what caught United out in the end.

Be honest DaG, we in no way dominated that game, it was pretty even. We just took a couple of our chances while United spurned all theirs.

In fairness, I remember you having more chances than we did. If Bendtner had turned up that day you would have thumped us. Not sure if that was because of the midfield battle that day though.

When did I ever say we dominated the game in this thread? I said we dominated the midfield battle, which is very true.

Your a fucking twat DAG  Van Persie has been carrying this team and has been our leader so now he is injured it means that Wenger will now play a 4-5-1 and we all know that is a bad formation because it limits our attack and means we have to defend and we all know this team cant defend :greatpost: :greatpost: WE ARE DOOMED!!!!!!!

Anderson and Carrick got the better of the midfield duel
BOLLOCKS. Look at the amount of the ball we won, both in tackles and interceptions; it was much more than United. Also, out players were far more effective off the ball, making them much more availiable for teammates. Everything we did well came through the middle.
BOLLOCKS.

United dominated the middle of the park and this is demonstrated by the chalkboard below.

Top pitch = Arsenal passes.
Bottom pitch = United passes

The chalkboard does not always reflect the whole story but these particular boards back up my claims, and make yours look foolish.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Why am I a twat? :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics:

Van Persie only carried the team in the winter months. Since then Wenger has fucked with his position and RVP doesn't score much. At least if Eduardo plays Wenger won't play him as a #10.

Thos chalkboard indicate Cesc/Denilson attempted far more passes than Carrick/Anderson. They also indicate our pair made more successful tackles, as well as intercepted the ball more. Our CM performed better on the day, and that's a FACT.

I bet on my life and Gunnerboys life that Wenger will play a 4-5-1 because there is no way Eduardo will play no way at all.

That's an awesome piece of kit Scholes.

However, that doesn't nescessarily mean that United dominated the midfield battle, it simply demonstrates how narrowly United played compared to Arsenal who preffered to open the game up by using the whole pitch.

Winner.

These injuries have ruined everything and losing Van Persie changes the whole dynamic of the game because now instead of going there and playing attacking football trying to cover up for the poor defence it is now a case of defending and battling in the midfield trying to protect the backline.

It doesn't indicate that at all.

It indicates that United made more successful passes, but they were less expansive than ours.

It also indicates that United made more successful tackles than us, but most of those tackles were in their own half while we looked to get more tackles in before they progressed into our half.

Not true Triggle. Scholes posted chalkboards that are biased. If I posted the individual chalk boards of Denilson, Cesc, Carrick, and Anderson, you would see that our pair was much better than United's.

Apparently Robin is very close to signing a new 5 year deal, with Walcott not far behind.

Gazidis is really the one to take the club forward I think, and its great that he seems to work for Arsenal FC, rather than Arsene FC.
