I waxed lyrical about this guy last year, as his physical ability was absolutely out of this world. Since then however, it's been poor performance after another, with so much wastefulness and braindead passing in his game.

But I still have high hopes for him, and recently he's been showing last year's form, which I hope he continues.

When playing well, this guy has quick-feet, energy, spark, power, pace, strength, endeavor and is adverturous in his play. What this guy has over many other top central-midfield players, is an ability to beat players and carry the ball long distances....how often do you see centre-mids with the ability to do that, and is that what makes him such a prospect?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

i think his biggest weakness is composure(other than penalties). he is such a great player but his composure or lack of makes his passing, shooting, crossing erratic

or it may be that he is just over eager but i like the fact that he is constantly thinking of attacking/ making things happen. its refreshing

He frustrates the sheep out of me as I hate players who aren't cool in possession, but what he does have is adverture and endeavor in attack, good vision, incredible physical attributes and the ability to beat players.

Like I said, how many top CMs have the ability to beat players like Anderson does? That's the extra dimension to his game that could see him become a top player.

He's been much more like last seasons player the last 3 games...and last year he was one of my favourite players for some reason...so i'm very glad he's playing like that again. His composure when taking penalties is fantastic but seems to disappear during open play. HOPEFULLY when (if!!!) he scores his first goal he might calm down a bit as i think when it comes to shooting he is almost trying too hard so fucks it up. As for his passing he can sometimes pick a great pass, but other times he wastes it so cheaply. But that is something that can be sorted with experience.

I personally have very high hopes for him...i hope he is a success.

Much more than Anderson this season, who incidentally this thread is about, so don't stray off-topic.

Anderson is one of my favourite players because of his ambition, ability and character. This season he has been a victim of Fergie not giving him enough time and enough consecutive games to settle himself. Yes he has also been in poor form but Fergies preference for the reliable but thoroughly mediocre Flecther has done Anderson no good. I expect him to be the first name on the teamsheet for CM by the end of next season.

I agree, his dynamism lends him similar attributes as essien possesses, but he has the potential to have better technique than essien imo, with his quick feet and passing abillity. Also, I reckon he actually has great vision, I know his passing hasn't been great at times this season, but once or twice a game I see him do something that either very nearly comes off, or is a great pass. Because of his physicality, that part of his game is underrated imo. If he can learnt to keep the ball better, which I think can easily be learned, by toning down slightly his attacking instincts (after all he was more of an SS at Porto?) then he will be a fantastic player, well worth the £17 mil :D
