Who has been the better player? :deepthought:
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Davids for me. He offered everything Gattuso did as far as work-rate etc. is concerned, but he also had a touch of class that Gattuso never had. Not even close imo

Didn't see much of Davids, but what I did see of him was impressive. Gattuso was though one of the best at crushing attacks, as evidenced in the Utd-Milan Semi-final 3 years ago.

Gattuso. Beacuse he's in my team and he's won everything, playing a crucial part in those triumphs.

Davids was just a class act. Easily wins this for me.

Didn't see much of Davids but from what I did see, he was a brilliant player.

VERY close this one, I think Gattuso won't be accredited with the respect he deserves because he still plays, but I think Davids edges it because of what he offered going forward. Both are/were incredibly tenacious and mobile around the pitch, covering every blade of grass, and made light work of defensive duties. Davids was very competent and attacking though and was a great partner for Zidane in the incredible Juve days of old, so maybe I'm being nostalgic here, but Davids wins this for me, because of his attacking exploits, as I think Gattuso was probably better at harassing an attacker and hurrying midfielders.

A small difference was the fact davids could actually kick a ball, not just players
