The Gunners’ Spanish midfield was less than impressed with the attitude of his El Submarino counterpart… Arsenal cruised to the semi-finals of the Champions League after dispatching Villarreal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium to wrap up a comfortable 4-1 aggregate triumph. Midfielder Cesc Fabregas was delighted that the Gunners managed to progress to the last four, but he was not too happy with the treatment dished out by El Submarino’s Uruguayan hardman, Sebastian Eguren. “Throughout the whole game, he was chasing and harassing me, insulting me and my family, and he elbowed me twice when the ball was not in play. I’m disappointed with him,” he told Spanish press during the post-match banter. The 21-year-old had told the English media that he’s not thinking about the semi-final showdown with Manchester United just yet, and he reaffirmed that he and the team are thinking even less about a potential blockbuster final with his old club, Barcelona. “We still have Manchester ahead of us, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to dream,” he said. “Nobody expected us to come this far with such a young team, with players who are only 19, 20, 21 years old. It’s incredible, although with the inexperience, we must be competitive.” |

I am proud of Cesc for not reacting to Eguren because we all know Cesc can be a prat at times. Eguren was sent off and gave Cesc a little slap but Cesc didn't react. Nice one Fabs

i have always/ and will always think that zidane acted like a little bitch his excuse was pathetic, he insulted my sister, and the fact that most of france celebrated him for defending his familys honour is embarrassing but the headbutt itself was bad ass |

If anyone deserves to be butted it's Materazzi. Zidane did the right thing.

I love ZZ, but Materazzi is a genius. He basically won the WC with Zidane's sending off there, he is a pest, and a fcuking good one. Legend. |

He doesn't get credit for behaiving because that is whats expected of him. Its obviously good that he didn't react but this sort of thing goes on in pretty much every game, so it's something that top players are subjected to on a regular basis. |

Great Post.He is one of the best at winding up people, I'm surprised he and Rooney didn't have a brawl in the CL. |

I think Fabregas deserves praise for not responding to the taunts on the pitch but i would withdraw that praise for making those statements public. He scored at both ends on this one IMHO. |
