Makes defending look easy. Welcome back, stay fit :dribble:

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

he hasn't been at his best this season, but he looked like the Rio of last season tonight. Excellent performance by him

It's no coincidence that as soon as he comes back, we look SO much better defensively.

erm307, don't forget that Man U's clean-sheet record came when Ferdinand was out.

Ferdinand did feature in about half of those matches

Anyway, both him and Vidic were sensational tonight, and O'Shea was brilliant too.

Yes, but Ferdinand was present as the beginning of that run when the team was high on confidence, and therefore players coming into the side were coming into a confident side and therefore played confidently themselves. As soon as United look a bit shaky Rio is that commanding defensive presence which helps to steady the ship, and that was proven tonight.

That could be a grat shout. Normally I would back Evra defensively, and his amazing performances v. Leo Messi last year in last years Semi Final shows what he can do.

But, he's been a bit of a liability of late, especially in the Liverpool game. Who knows what could happen if Theo turned on his A game against him.

Still, United's attack should carve through the fragile Arsenal defence, so we may still make it to Rome.
