I love it just to piss everyone else off, but I want to see Barca in the final.

It's going to continue for a long time though. The only way it would be stopped is if the 6 and 5 rule got passed as all our quality Europeans would go elsewhere. That would obviously mean that the Prem. would become less of a high quality league. So it's really a trade off between a properly contested european tournament, or a high quality premierleague season. Like a child does though, I want both....

To be honest the other teams in europe have world class players aswell. Theres no reason Barca shouldnt win the champions league looking at their players. If they dont its their own fault. Its our turn to dominate just like the spanish an italians did.

Juventus, Milan and Madrid all have the potential to be just as good as the English sides and Barcelona as they can all attract the best players and have the budgets to pay for them, with 3 or 4 decent buys each they can all be a threat to the English teams, particularly the former.

But yeah, atm the CL semis are a fair reflection of quality.

I can't remember a pulsating CL tie that featured an English team and a european team since the 2005 season which featured Chelsea Barca, Chelsea Bayern and Liverpool Milan. Whenever there's been a so-called 'big tie' recently, e.g. Madrid-Liverpool, United-Inter, the english team just seems to completely dominate.

Not really sure what point I'm making, but it's a nice observation.

Italian clubs are the most likely to break the hold PL clubs have on the competition. Barca and Real Madrid can be pure quality going forward especially Barca but Spanish clubs don't like the tough and competitive nature of the PL teams and the fact that it's at such a high tempo.

Italian clubs can stop that with their amazing defences and organisation and Spanish clubs can deal with Italian clubs because they don't play at the same tempo as PL teams.

Overall I think Spanish clubs and other latino clubs are the ones who struggle with the PL teams the most playing an aggressive physical game is just not in Spanish clubs' make-up, even though Barca are in the semi's, that's because they're a truly outstanding team.

Chelsea will knock lumps out of them though IMO.

Have faith ManYou.

No team has ever "knocked lumps" out of Barca in the same way as Liverpool did to Madrid, it will require a truly special defensive showing like those displayed by United and Liverpool to beat us - though the Liverpool game was accentuated by Barca's profligacy in front goal. We can deal with their pace as we will dictate it through our possession play.

I said i would love to get Chelsea and we have got them. We progress if we play well.

Graeme Souness kept going on about how Drogba will destroy Barca's defence and how Barca are weak at set pieces etc.

Set pieces are my biggest worry too, hopefully Drogba won't turn up. We will outscore them reagrdless though.

I think Chelsea and Liverpool are the most likely to drain teams down with their toughness, not sure who will go through in all fairness but I don't think you'll see a typical Barcelona performance at SB. I might be wrong though because your lot have been amazing going forward this season.

Without a doubt the biggest test for any defence so with Chelsea looking more vulnerable this season maybe it will be Barca calling the shots. Chelsea will be a team possessed, looking to win the final they feel they should have won last season.

It was the same in 06 when we knocked out a Milan side that were out for revenge for their failure in the season before.

I'm not being arrogant, but i really don't fear this Chelsea side.

Well that's fair enough, they're certainly not as fearable as the last Chelsea side you faced and you beat that team. I think that there's more potential for goals in this team though because Hiddink isn't as cautious as Mourinho or Grant, so I think Barcelona's defence will be sorely tested this time.

It could be a real goalfest tbh.
