Liverpool better in the CL? Bollox. They squeezed by Standard Liege undeservedly to make the group stages. And now they're out because they got whooped at home by Chelsea.
As scholes said, they thumped Madrid and you only scraped past Roma.

I didn't say they're better than us at the moment or overall. They were better than us late last year, that's it. Remember Arsenal have been trashing everyone recently too. And we haven't lost in yonks, Liverpool have.

That's 2 games, big deal. We only scraped past Roma because we didn't finish them off in the first leg like we should have done because we battered them. And we had no Cesc, Walcott or Ade.

Shiit, my mistake :deepthought:

I thought Liverpool were more convincing in the group stages too. They've defs been better over the last few years as well. As I said though, that is more down to Benitez.

Arsenal cruised through the group stage too. We would have been unbeaten and top had Wenger not decided to pick the reserve team as soon as he knew we'd qualified.

Who were the better team this time last season Triggle?
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Pretty even. Arsenal were having a rough patch and Liverpool were mediocre as ever.

Uefa have Liverpool ranked number 1 in europe if that helps anybody . .

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Nope, because Uefa base their rankings over the last 6 years or something ridiculous.

So Arsenal is the better team but Benitez is the better manager?

Would have been the other way around I would have thought

Arsenal were miles miles better. Yes they were going through a rough patch, and Liverpool were in better form, but it doesn't make them a better team, just like right now Arsenal's form does not make them better than Liverpool.

Blackburn are in better form than Aston Villa, but Villa are currently the better team.
