Alonso can leave with his head held high. Consistent throughout the 90 mins, winning plenty of the ball and involved in everything Liverpool did well. Played Lampard off the pitch. Frank was very poor besides the two goals. Liverpool completely overran the midfield, but when they didn't get the third in the 1st half or early in the second I just knew that luck Hiddink would get his way. Anelka made all the difference, he murdered Arbeloa and Skrtel was shocking. Carragher was solid as usual.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT I JUST REALIZED BARCA PLAYED A GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am soft.

Skrtel had to be played. He dominated Drogba last season.

Reina was quick and sharp but he made one really bad mistake.
Arbeloa had a good game, maybe kept giving away too many fouls though.
Carra was solid. Really underrated by many.
Skrtle, poor poor game from him. I would of put Agger ahead of him.
Auralio, this Brazilian has improved so much, had a really good game today.
Kuyt, he is a special player, you dont come across many like him, he works hard, defends well, and scores important goals.
Benayoun, thought he did okay tonight, had a couple of chances and created a couple of chances.
Alonso, this Spaniard is class, dominated the midfield tonight.
Lucas, really good game for him, he has improved alot recently.
Mascherano, Liverpool missed him at Anfield last week and tonight he proved why.
Torres, quiet game from him, looked lost with out Gerrard.

Overall Benitez should be happy with Liverpool's performance as they fighted untill the very end and played some nice football.

Give Frank as much stick as you want for tonights performance, It's the goals that count.

They won't get lucky again when they play Barca, and they will be found out.

I didn't think he was great at all. A lot of what Chelsea did well came from that side.

his set pieces caused Chelsea real danger alot of the time. he also offered alot going forward. maybe defensivly tonight he was not the best but i stil think he had a really good game.

Shouldn't a LBs primary job be to defend?

Don't forgot his goal. I saw it coming and was thinking to myself...why don't you have a pop?

He did exactly that, which is a credit to him, but the execution cannot be ignored. It was top class, and it's one of the best goals this CL campaign will see tbh.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Had Liverpool started with Babel/Riera they would have won. They needed more attackers when Chelsea where faltering.
