We haven't done one of these on here for ages. Pick an XI, any players, any formation. See if we can find a conscensus.

Winner.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

It was between Gerrard, Lampard and Rooney for me in that position.

Rooney has to be there, in that specific position. Gerrard can do one.

Kaka, Messi, Cassano, Iniesta, Diego, Arshavin, Robinho are all better than those 3 as a #10.

Because he's the second best wide player in world football, that's why.

What I said is absolutely correct, and anybody who watches a decent amount of football would agree. Cassano wipes the floor with Rooney, as do all the others on that list.

Not really sure anymore. I love the man, but he's frustrating me more and more nowadays. I'd like to see more of Iniesta TBH

...............Casillas
Maicon...Vidic...Carragher...Evra
............Mascherano
.........Xavi..........Iniesta
Messi.......................Henry
.................Villa

Notes:

Buffon's form has been nowhere near as good since he's come back from his injury (admittedly based on highlights as well as what i've read) and Casillas has come over his blip. I think he's a better keeper anyway.

The battle for my CB slot alongside Vidic was more a battle of "who has been the least bad" rather than who has been the best. I plumped for Carragher as Terry has been inconsistent all season and Rio and Carvalho have been invariably injured.

Henry may look a biased inclusion, but there isn't another left winger / left forward who i can think of that has been more effective / in better form recently. Ronaldo has looked dangerous, but his poor form (for him) and indifferent attitude in the last few games will count against him. Henry also works really well with Xavi.

I would much rather Rooney behind a main striker than a lot of those names. Iniesta is already in my team so why mention him...Rooney has been exellent this season and is a creative hub.
