1) Don't insult me with the media crap, i can make up my own mind.

2) Your missing my point about defenders playing deep, if they play deep, there is far less space for your runners to run into. A target man opens up space by virtue of his ability to hold onto the ball, playing with his back to goal, runners need space in which to run into, something you can't do when well drilled defences sit deep.

Winner.

LMAO, a target man does not make space by holding up the ball. How can a static player make space?

Your not making any sense Cule. There is absolutely no reason at all that 2 runners can not play in the same team.

Er, simple really. By drawing defenders in toward him as the target man holds up the ball, they are drawn out of position, THEN allowing for the gaps which runners can exploit...

There is no reason for more than one defender to be trying to tackle a player holding up the ball. That's just poor defending.

Off the ball running creates space, not a static target man.

Right, we'll do Arsenal vs Chelsea for you:

...........DEFENDER A.......DEFENDER B.......
............TARGET MAN
...................................RUNNER

Ball is played in, target man comes toward the ball to receive (back to goal):

......................................DEFENDER B.......

DEFENDER A

TARGET MAN..........RUNNER

The target man can either flick it on, or play it back to a team mate who can chip it over the top for the runner to get into the gap:

RUNNER............DEFENDER B

DEFENDER A

TARGET MAN

Runner is now through on goal.

There you are, a step by step guide to how a target man creates space

LMAO, no space is created there. Its just poor defending by us not marking the runner.

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Ok, well there obviously is, one defender is drawn forward and the runner (coming from deep) will have a head start on the second defender, and therefore more likely to catch him on his feet.

Have you ever played football? Seriously this is fucking basic stuff.

If you think that you don't know your arse from your elbow when it comes to football.

OMG, I literally cannot believe that people think a target man. So the Invincibles raped teams up ad down the country because of Henry holding the ball up right? Chelsea played brilliant, flowing attacking football with Drogba right???

GET A GRIP FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about a team that doesn't have "runners", how does space be created then?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.
