You say that whilst supporting a team which is top of the league mainly due to its defence...
In this game midfield/attack is of more importance for me.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Good for you, no doubt they'll be of the Ian Wright ilk.

What's that supposed to mean? Ian Wright was fucking quality, pure fucking quality. And in the position I took him there was not another striker who was better...

Well, as you have Owen as well (your best pick so far imo), you'd be looking more for a flick on man to get Owen in behind the defence rather than someone else who likes use his pace to get in behind. Wright and Owen are just a bit similar, he needs a foil, hence why Wright and Bergkamp were so good during their breif spell together.

See, I am sorry to do this, but your just talking bollocks Cule. You are clearly being lazy in your analyzing and just going with this rubbish generalization that you need a target man upfront. Pure rubbish. There is absolutely nothing from keeping 2 goal scorers from playing together, especially with the 2 creative wide players I will have. Two runners can clearly play together. Just look at Wrighty-Anelka when they played together they were excellent.

And BTW Vieira was my best pick, and Wrighty is a rich man's Michael Owen.

Ok, so say the other team sits deep against you, oh look, your runners are now useless. Playing against frankly poor PL defences in '96 it's no surprise it worked with two runners. However against the elite - players who know how to deal with pace (eg play a deep line) you'll be regretting your lack of a target man.

More than anything, it just gives a team an extra dimension, hence (for example) Ant's partnership of Ronaldo and Batigol will work far better with one electrifyingly quick player and one who is very good in the air, meaning defences will be far more threatened by the variety of attacks coming at them.

LMAO, against teams who sit deep movement is EVEN MORE crucial. The ball won't move defenders out of position, the player does

There's a difference between movement and pace mate. Drogba can move defenders and tie them up due to his size, leaving gaps for runners, people like Wright and Owen simply can't do that with the same effect.

Umm, NOOOO. Your letting the media and rubbish English pundits get to you!!!! If you make a good off the ball run defenders leave their position to follwo the runner. If they are late a pass is on, if they go with the runner the ball carrier can run into to space.

Come on Cule, I expect better from you.
