Sorry KOL, time has elapsed, I've posted your pick Moe.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Recoba was a good pick I reckon. What do you think Ant and co.?

Hmm, seems an odd choice at this stage, he was one of those players who was ridiculously talented but never quite seemed to live up to his talent. I always remember him as pretty inconsistent, i'd liken him to the Ronaldinho of today. Still, at his best, a wonderful player - great freekicks.

Winner.

i know he is controversial, but imo he was vastly underrated

amazing dribbler, playmaker, magical left foot which made him a threat from crosses, shots and freekicks. he was a world class player

since i couldnt pick giggs, overmars, beckham etc he was the best possible wide player available for my team

I was watching some Recoba goals yesterday actually lol. I personally wouldn't have picked him, but with so many players getting picked now it's getting to the stage where there are questionable picks. He struggled to nail down a place in Inter's side, and never really impressed for a prolonged period. Likening him to Ronaldinho is an insult to Dinho tbh, he was a classy player, but moody, inconsistent and very poor for the team's morale. Ok-ish pick.

Don't think he ever played on the LW, only ever saw him alongside the striker or just behind. I wouldn't say he was underrated.

Actually, his comparison to Ronaldinho was an insult to Recoba Ant. Ronaldinho is poor now.

Recoba's goal record at Inter is impressive.

i think he was, he was a very gifted player, borderline worldclass and only his temperment prevented him from becoming a truly world class player. he was class for 3 or 4 seasons but was obviously over shadowed by ronaldo

he did play LW but tended to drift inside, but you right he did play AM/SS sometimes because of his goal threat, thats why im playing deschamps in there to cover him.

im building a team for a system not just big name players and he fits the bill perfectly

Superb team so far Moe...you've chosen the old Paul Scholes but the 06/07 Scholes would be better IMO. I know who you can pick for RM, that WILL NOT get picked I guarantee...

i dissagree on the scholes part

although scholes was a far greater threat attacking wise, he was a fantastic cm. he not only had the vision and attacking abilities..he was able to track back effectively and was good defensively (very reckless in the challenge though)

the scholes of now just sits in midfeild and makes passes, hes not quick enough (or does he have the energy) to get up and attack but he also cant track back to defend

plus a young scholes was just as good, if not then slightly worse, at passing than he is now

He was always a class footballler but in 06/07 he took it to another level. His intelligence, ball-use, vision and total class in the middle of the park will not be matched by anyone in a full season; it was better than robotic.
