Season mode wont work cuz the teams are drawn against eachother an a decision is then made from the two. They arent playing west brom an sunderland so how can you claim its a season mode? its obviously just one on one matches.

its just gay scholes, and theres no reserves so what if someone gets injured in the season or sent off, i could say when voting, well 5 of your players are injured so you lose.
Well it would be judged with the assumption that that same XI play each game throughout the season, at full fitness, OR, if you wanted to imagine back-up players being used, imagine each team having the same quality and effectiveness and their disposal.

It would get judged hypothetically...no need to get all technical and clever by bringing injuries and subs into the equation...obviously that is inevitable in the real world but this is a game and judging a team based on how you think they'd do over the course of a season is a very fair way of doing things.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

'Season mode' so to speak doesn't sound like a good idea to me lol, nobody can judge the outcome of a season. I was under the impression that in this game you make a team for a one off game, whoever has the best team, dependent on many criteria, would win.

It sounds like Scholes is worried that his team would get beaten in a one off match and is trying to compensate by changing the game rules
How?

If we all thought it wasgoing to be one-off matches we woul've picked a team of Dirk Kuyts and Ji-Sung Parks!

Lol, not if it's made cear.

Yes teams are draw against each other, and only two teams will be compared at a time, but there are no flaws in judging it in 'season-mode'.

For example:

In July, we will all be predicting who will win the PL 09/10.

I say United, you say Chelsea, and we are judging each team on how they'll fare over the course of 9 months. The BEST team will win the PL, the BEST team won't necessarily win both games between the two sides. ie. Chelsea might be better equipped to beat United than visa versa, but United might be better equipped to win the PL because they are capable of winning the small games consistently, for example.

What league?

The teams we are picking aren't directly linked...we're not supposed to be imagining a league of 16 word class teams...anything can happen in a league like that as all games would be closely fought...we're better off imagining each team at the start of the season, going into 9 months of competitive games, chasing a Treble...or otherwise I would've just picked the entire Liverpool team.

Mate its seriously flawed idea lol you cant draw them against eachother an say oh but vote on the season. if your doin that then ur gona need to say which league are they in? in which year? there are too many variables to just say oh who would win league

Yeh, I fully understand that and thought it through. There wouldn't really be a specific league to imagine, but the Champions League would be the most likely competition in people's minds considering there's such a mixture of players.

We can have a vote on it. Personally I think it's more balanced in 'season-mode' providing you can get to grips with imagining properly because Didier Drogba, the biggest big game player you'll see, will be a much better pick than Thierry Henry...

Surely your idea is flawed too if Drogba becomes a more valuable playr than Henry?

Like I say, a few people object to season mode and therefore I will take that into account, and put up a poll  I'm not fussed either way but how can we counter that Drogba example? Anyone?
