Just thought i'd throw my hat into the ring...

At least it'll be a two horse race for the whimsically rude and dismissive award

Winner.

and we all know how Dinho performed in a Barcelona side that wasn't exactly star-studded
I don't recall him playing in such a side. That Eto'o bloke, Deco ... rubbish right?
That's two players you pisshead, two players I've always singled out as being the only other stars in Barcelona of old...

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Same position. I realised that there were no more top class LB left quite a while ago. There may have only been 2/3 to choose from. I have a couple of ideas but im 3rd last to pick so i might end up with utter shite.

To say Keown would eat him is so funny, maybe a world class defender would have a chance but Keown? Dream on!

So you are saying Arsenal's best defender from 96 to 2002 was not world class? Get a grip and watch some football mate.

I bet you would say Campbell>Keown :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics:
Campbell was better than Keown DaG. And Tony Adams was comfrotably better. Best defender 96-02 my arse. You didn't even watch Arsenal then.

What have you got to say about that eh DaG?

I'm thinking, but GB needs to make his picks too!

Ok, whatever.

All I know is Campbell was a reactionary defender, never brilliant reading the game, and I never rate those as elite. Adams was injured a lot after 96. Keown was very, very consistent. Wenger said he was unbeatable in the 1v1, aerially, or in desire. Wenger said he was our best defender in that period, and I couldn't agree more.

Keown had absolutely everything: quick, strong, brilliant aerially, proactive, brilliant positionally, and hard as fvck. of course Adams was much better for his previous season, but Keown was better in the time period I mentioned.

And don't play the I didn't watch them card, because it aint true.
