He started out as a left back, moved to left wing and then to number 10. I'm taking him back to his roots, beehatch!

If Dag wants to say he's picked Gerrard 98-02 and Erm says he's got Cech 'pre head injury', surely Trig can take the 1994 Leonardo.

Yeah, but for how many years did he play LB, and was he any good?

Kept R.Carlos out of the world cup XI, played there for 4 years or so. I'm no expert on him as a player so I wouldn't like to judge too much, but if Trig wants to play him there he should get as much recognition in that position as someone like Gerrard.

This is what Scousers think of Gerrard from 98-2002...

Just very good. Proper world class now tho

He was a very good player for his age but suffered from a couple of problems. Firstly he didn't have a position as such. He was utilised as a RB for a time early in his career, was played on both wings and then ended up being used mainly as a CM. His main problem however was his attitude/temperament. The guy was a bit like Rooney were he would just go in too hard a lot of the time. It was a case of being a great tackler but almost looking to stamp too much authority on the challenges and he ended up crossing the line quite a bit and getting himself into unnecessary trouble.

he played as a dm player, he had potential but nothing else. it was like scott parker or barton when they were young.

Nicky Butt would've been a better second pick.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Redondo would have been the perfect 2nd pick there I'm afraid to say. What a CM partnership that would have been.

I know I hated the guy but you also could have had Roy Keane. That would strike fear into every club in the world, and would have got you a lot of votes from United fans.

Too easy to wind up mate.

You think Denilson is top class :wipeee: Regardless, hop off my dick, Gerrard at CM, especially in his early years was not a wise choice.

You think a Vieira - Gerrard 98-02 partnership is better than a Vieira -Redondo/Scholes/Deschamps/Davids etc. partnership?

My bad Dag, I thought Keane was Erm's 2nd pick. Wow that is one hell of a brave pick first up and 5th go overall.
