Owen is your best striker
Like I said, he's just a poor version of Wright. Ian was better off the ball, and a better finisher too. All Owen had on Wright was pace.

Trigs, I really ought to do it. It probably seems like I'm being really lazy, but I'm not being really lazy, I'm just being lazy, because I have to make a new googlemail account as it logged me out of my other one, and I've no idea what the pass is. I'll get onto it.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Both Owen & Wright are flawless as far as movement off the ball and finishing is concerned. I'd say Owen was the better player but it's close

Wright was better at creating space for others, Owen was more just creating the space for balls into him. Wrighty was the better footballer too.

Good point Dag. sheep the spreadsheet off and just write the player names next to the username. Easier to read and easier to maintain.

Actually Kevin Campbell used to create the space for Wrighty.

^^^Wrighty was much better off the ball than Campbell. Remember Wright's goal at Selhurst park in 92/93? Great 1-2 initiated by Wright, he got it back in loads of space, and of course finished it off.

Can't think which one you mean off the top of my head no. You mean the chip for his hattrick?

Anyways, Campbell was the bulldozer.

Indeed. But i don't think his main strengths were opening up space for others to exploit. Even if it was, it didn't work because nobody else ever scored other than him. Well, Merson and Campbell scored a few, and then Harston whe he replaced Campbell.

^^^What about Bergkamp? Smith scored a fair few, as did Campbell.

And creating space for others isn' justt about giving them goal scoring opportunities, its giving them space to run into and then make a pass.

Cockney is smoking weed so what shall we do about him?
