The highly-rated French left-back could command a fee of at least €5.5 million but this is unlikely to deter Spurs... Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Porto's Aly Cissokho, according to a report in the British tabloid The Sun. Apparently, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has been monitoring the progress of the French defender for some time and could finally make a move for him at the end of the season. After rising through the youth ranks at French club Gueugnon, the left-sided full-back made 22 first-team appearances during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 campaigns. Following some impressive performances, he earned a move to Portuguese team Vitoria Setubal last summer, however, he was snapped up by Porto in January after just half a season with Os Sadinos due to equally good form. The 21-year-old has since played 12 times for the Dragoes and it is thought that Spurs will have to pay at least €5.5 million (£5m) to land the highly-rated youngster, who is thought to be close to earning a call up to the full French international squad. Lol he isnt going anywhere unless Spurs pay at least 15m euros |

![]() Ok you people clearly dont know much about him so let me explain. He joined Porto from Setubal in January and from the first moment he arrived at the Dragons he has been immense probably their best player infact. He is lightening quick and is a real machine we will be hearing alot more from him very soon because imo its just a matter of time before he is up there with the best fullbacks in europe. He barely has any weaknesses so check him out

Clearly not a 'natural footballer', but my word what a run. Athletic, strong, powerful, one of the reasons I like Melchiot. |

Valencia will sign France defender Aly Cissokho from Lyon subject to him passing a medical. The 24-year-old is poised to agree a four-year contract and Spanish media said the deal was worth around six million euros (£4.75m). "He has extensive experience despite his age," Valencia sports director Braulio Vazquez said in a statement. "He has played for the French national team and played at the highest levels such as in the Champions League. "Cissokho is physically very strong, he is very good in defence and will help raise the competition for places in the squad particularly on the left flank." Cissokho will help cover at left back after Valencia sold Spain full back Jordi Alba to Barcelona. |

Great signing. Valencia are so good ffs. |
![]() Winner. "If I go to Anfield and someone puts the ball into the box and Carragher hammers it out of play the fans applaud. At Camp Nou you would never be applauded for that." - Xavi | |
