Wrighty failed at International football, that's the prob. Nearly half his goals came in one game against San Marino.
His club career showed how good a player he was. Cantona did fvck all internationally too, same with Gerrard and many others.

Wright was fucking class. Rate him as highly, maybe higher than Bergkamp.
No way mate. He was a top striker, but not close to Bergkamp as a player.

Cantona failed at International level because they refused to pick him for being a crazy bastard. He did something or said something to a ref i believe.

Ian Wright pisses on any United striker EVER, including RVN.

Trig is better equipped to judge Wright because he's 93 years of age. DaGunners is going by a few old reruns.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

That's not necessarily the case, Manyou and myself have a lot of useful things to say about early-mid 90's football, and we're both 22, nobody questions our judgement though.

And how exactly do you know that?

I'm just wondering because DaGunners' views on players before his time usually differ to that of Triggle's, and as switched on about football as DaGunners is, I can't help but take Trig's word for it due to the age difference.

Wow, is that the single most biased thing you have ever said?

'Cos you wank over every word ManYou says, and nobody has ever realy argued with anything me or him have said on early-mid 90's football. You've missed my point though, we would have been 8-15 years old, and it's mainly because of faded memories and re-runs that we can make our judgements.

And you've missed mine. I'm questioning DaGunners because his views differ to someone much older than him, on players before his time.

I know opinions are often generated on reruns and faded memories but unless I see someone older than you give conflicting opinions on certain players, I've no need to question the validity of your opinion :)

Winner.

I wouldn't say my viewpoints differ drastically from DaG's, and i was pretty young in the early mid nineties so my ability to really observe player's abilities was not fully developed. So him watching reruns is probably as good a method of forming an accurate viewpoint as me relying on old memories.

But saying that, i can say without doubt that Bergkamp will always be remembered on a whole different level to Wrighty, as will RVN more than likely. Wrighty is on par with someone like EDITED LOLOLOL
