West Ham United manager Gianfranco Zola has urged England manager Fabio Capello to choose some of his players in the squad that will be named for the forthcoming internationals on Saturday. Midfielder Scott Parker, in particular, is player that deserves the chance to add to his three England caps, all won prior to Capello taking over as national team boss. Zola feels that Parker is probably the finest defensive midfielder in England, and would certainly increase the Three Lions options. "Scott Parker has been outstanding this year," Zola told Setanta Sports News. "He deserves it. His energy and quality has been outstanding, his passing - everything. "He is a complete midfielder because he can produce quality but works very hard defensively. I believe in his position he is the best in this country." England play Slovakia in a friendly on March 28, before their world Cup qualifying campaign, so successful thus far, resumes against Ukraine four days later. And Parker is not the only Hammer that Zola feels is worthy of inclusion. "From my point of view there should be many but Capello is the one who decides," he added. "Our players are in good form and there is a chance for a few players to be in the squad. If my players are selected they will do well for England." |

Predictable. Whenever a good player from a non-top 4 club gets his own thread all you ever say is 'shit player'. I have a Charlton shirt signed by him specifically to me, and I think Carrick is the only English DM better than Scotty P. |

Just because he is the second best English "DM" means sheep all. The guy is an extremely limited footballer. His passing leaves an awful lot to be desired and he doesn't cover a lot of ground either. |

Parker is so average it's untrue. Makes Carrick look like a world beater ffs. Like Dag said, he's extremely limited and I am so thankful that City didn't sign him. |
