Arsenal's Kolo Toure has admitted he does not get on with former skipper William Gallas.

The Gunners' central defenders have formed an impressive pairing again of late with the Arsenal rearguard conceding just five goals in 15 games, but Toure says his partnership with the Frenchman is purely professional.

The Ivory Coast international said: "My relationship with William has improved, but it's just a professional relationship.

"Once we are on the pitch we try to keep a professional attitude and to communicate."

Toure added: "I am friends with Johan Djourou, with Emmanuel Eboue, with Gael Clichy, but it is not the same with William.

"We never got on well together.

"However, it is the same within every company - you cannot be friends with everybody."

Can they recapture that impressive partnership they formed in the first half of last season? And why has Wenger suddenly started opting for Toure again?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Look at the last 15 or so games and that will tell you everything. Ok yes Djourou played a big part in those games as well but they have worked well together recently and they are of course the most experienced players in this team so they are vital

And why has Wenger suddenly started opting for Toure again?

Because Djourou is not ready to play everygame and to be fair Toure has been a rock recently.

Toure and Gallas have been brilliant together recently, Toure looked to have recaptured his pre-malaria form. Maybe if he and Gallas aren't getting on they play well lol.

yes they can capture it, they are both good players, and as long as gallas remains professional they can perform

hes sticking with toure cos he realises how important toure is to the team, as a fan favourite, as a leader, as an experienced head, and as a booster of morale.

i think toure is one of if now our most important player in terms of what he brings to the team as a whole

No..... they're not. Bendtner and Ade never work. Nor do Bendtner and RVP or Ade and RVP. All three of these players work best when partnered with Eduardo, Vela and probably Walcott.

Anyway, Toure and Gallas. It's not ideal that they don't get on, but as Homer said, they're our most experienced players and are playing very well at the moment so Wenger's right to keep them together.

Well, he admits he used to be brilliant but thinks he's past it. I think he just went through a grueling 2008 with the ACN and the malaria, and is also at the age where he's lost a bit of pace and has had to work on adapting his style to compensate. He's definitely improving again so DaG shouldn't be writing him off.

DG only sees black and white... if they are scoring goals they are world class, if they stop scoring they are past it

he doesnt consider the overal input of a player or what he has achieved in his career

I like the guy, but not as a player anymore. He used to be fucking fantastic, but now he is a shadow of his former self. Playing well at the moment though.
I am soft.
