Man Utd fans are just scared Ant :clown:
Yep, I said in my last post, we'll be title challengers and they know it. They complained when Chelsea came in and started spending, but now Chelsea have faded they're trying to act as if Chelsea were different somehow.

Bridge is improving, he'll only get better with playing time, and I didn't hear people saying he wasn't good enough when he signed.

12m for Bridge is sick, he's average

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

And??? I've said it all along, I didn't want him that much, we could have got better but he would suffice. His first few games he was terrible and I stated that, and after the last few games I've given him credit saying he is getting better. Now go find that 'Bridge signs for City' topic and look at the responses from people like you and another neutral fans, you all said it was a great signing.

It's a shame football is the way it is today. Next thing you know Bolton will be signing players like Luis Fabiano. I'd rather see clubs earn their status opposed to being handed it on a plate, and as for your obsession with City Homer, if they do become Title Challengers (one day), you will start hating them like you do with all successful teams.

Robinho treated the game last night like a training session and lost the ball frequently. Ireland was the star man again.
That's the way Robinho plays, he treats most games as fun, wastes possession and chances quite a bit, but when it does come off it's genius and usually results in a goal or a big chance for a team mate. There is nothing wrong with the way he plays imo as the pros far outweight the cons. Ireland is amazing me with his consistency this season, he's the star man in most games, just an incredible player.

You cannot complain about the way football is today when you've constantly spent millions, record breaking fees for players, and basically made it the way it is today. All I can say is if it was happening to your club you'd be loving it, but since it poses a threat to you you're playing the moral high ground card.
Actually, that is where you're wrong, because I'd be totally against it, and I know this because when Charlton where about to be taken over by Billionnaires a few months ago, I was totally against it, and glad it didn't materialise. Granted I'm not passionate about them like I am United but the same rules apply. United's success has been built upon the likes of Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Keane, Neville, Schmeichel etc...it's just not healthy for today's game making bids of 100M for Kaka and being linked with every name under the sun....this takeover could've happened to any club...which makes it nothing but pot luck. It's not the competition I am scared of, I would feel so much better if you became amazing via a youth system, controlled purchases or gradual progression.

As for Ireland, he is unbelievably talented.

For clubs outside the top 4 they need money to compete if not they have no chance at all.

We have an amazing youth academy, a lot of our players come from there, so far all of our purchases have been controlled and our progression has been gradual. You happy now?

Key words: So far....

If you become title challengers it won't be due to an amazing youth acadamy.

Ireland is the first name on the team sheet, so it won't be far off.

It is different from Chelsea because they were already a Champions League side. City were a second half of the table team who were in a bit of a mess when all this came and happened. Unless someone like Mourinho takes over at eastlands then I cant see man city winning the title (no matter how much they spend) for a good 5/6 years.

when man city are on form they play some very attractive football but they arent a fantastic side, or are they the best aestically in the league

i dont see man city challenging in the next two seasons as they dont have a winning mentality, and mark hughes isnt the manager to instil that, also their new signings will need time to settle and not every signing will fit so mistakes can be made in the market which will set them back a bit

imo if they arent at least in the cl and challenging in the pl in the next 3 to 4 seasons i will be shocked

Question, picture this team...

Given
Richards Kompany Chiellini Bridge
SWP Diego De Jong Robinho
Villa Bellamy

Do you think they'd come top 4? I think that side is capable of big things under the right management...
The full backs aren't good enough and Villa wouldn't even consider playing alonside Bellamy. If that team was real, which it never will be it would displace Everton and finish 5th/6th imo.
Richards is certainly good enough ya mug, he's been our best player last few games and has all the potential in the world. Bridge is improving, he'll only get better with playing time, and I didn't hear people saying he wasn't good enough when he signed. Villa won't have a choice who he plays alongside, he's just a normal person who is extremely professional, it's not like he's royalty who will refuse to play with average players, especially when coming from a club like Valencia.
A club like Valencia who have some very good players and have been in 2 CL finals. Villa's agent has made it clear that he'll be staying in Spain. Diego is quite plausible, Chiellini is impossible. Zapata would be a good call, also someone like Owen. But a big target man who can play a bit wouldn't go awis- Gomez perhaps.
