What a boost this will be:

Cesc Fabregas' Spanish doctor believes the Arsenal star could return to action ahead of schedule and play in their UEFA Champions League clash against Roma.

The Gunners captain sustained ligament damage in a challenge with Xabi Alonso back in December, and had been expected to face nearly four months on the sidelines.

However, the 21-year-old recently hinted he was hoping for a speedy recovery and now his Spanish doctor Ramon Cugat believes he could be back in action within three weeks.

When asked whether Fabregas could be ready to face Roma on 24th February, Cugat told the Daily Mirror: "I think so.

"The Arsenal doctors said it normally takes three-and-a-half months to recover because of the way it happened.
Early return

"But I believe he will return quicker than then. I recognise that the player needs to be ready, to have good mobility and stability and that he needs to feel good after returning to training," he continued.

"The one that will know best is the player. I saw him last week.

"He passed the tests, there had been a clear improvement and he was expecting to make a speedy recovery.

"What is even better is that he could recover more quickly than is considered normal, which is very good."

Rosicky has been running and training with a ball and Wenger expects him back in 6 weeks. Eduardo will play for Croatia next week and he is fully fit. Walcott is about 3 or 4 weeks away. We all of a sudden have a lot of depth...

8 points is not an insurmountable amount, although it is much more likely we will finish above Chelsea rather than Liverpool.

But Wenger is building something special for next season...

shame about your defence
Our defense is not nearly as bad as most make out. When you playing behind Song, Diaby, and Eboue who constantly give the ball away and are static as hell, your asking for trouble.
