STEVE COPPELL last night became the latest boss to blast Andrey Arshavin’s controversial move to Arsenal. But the saga now appears to be over after yesterday’s Premier League board meeting approved the Russian’s £15m transfer without even discussing it. Arshavin, 27, was only given the green light to leave Zenit St Petersburg almost 24 hours after the transfer window shut. And Reading chief Coppell said: “The whole thing is a total sham. “You are looking for the governing body to show leadership and you want rules to be rules rather than rules to be bent. “The whole transfer window benefits the wealthier clubs and it shouldn’t be that way. “Why bother with the pretence?” Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill also questioned the deal earlier this week and Villa’s chief operating officer Paul Faulkner was expected to raise the issue at yesterday’s meeting. Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards said: “It was a great meeting but Arshavin was not discussed.” Andrey Arshavin’s move to Arsenal has been rubber-stamped – but Aston Villa’s stars seem more determined than ever to pip the Gunners to a Champions League spot. |

Therefore it was not completed before the deadline. Stop looking at it from a Biased Arsenal fan point of view and look at it just being a football fan. If this was United signing Kaka, you know 100% you would be pissed off. |

It has nothing to do with the FA. Arsenal had 4 weeks to to complete the transfer but failed to do so within this time and took an extra 24 hours. You cannot simply blame the FA for Arsenal's failure to match up to Zenit's demands. |

CONFIRMATION is part of the COMPLETION. COMPLETION is to be done BEFORE the deadline. THE DEADLINE was PASSED. Therefore Clubs have the right to annoyed by it. |

I suggest you do some research before spouting out crap fella. The rules state as I have said umpteen times on here before, that confirmation that a deal has been struck, prior to the transfer window closing, is satisfactory and that the paperwork doesn't even need to be submitted until after the deadline. This is because there is an in-depth process of looking into the paperwork, which takes time. There ave been plenty of deals over the years that haven't been announced until after the transfer window closes...again so I don't see the issue...neither do the FA! Look at Benjani this time last year...that took 5 days before confirmation from the FA that they approved it. Did other clubs bitch about it then...nope as it was Pompey and Man City. Note: some of the managers that have a gripe with Arsenal feel the need to put their 10 pence worth in, and it's quite laughable, petty, and immature. Even Martin O'Neil said he wasn't interested in it all, as he is mature enough and educated enough to know that there is no issue here with the deal. The fact the FA made a special public statement saying they were entirely happy with the deal, and that at the Premierleague meeting yesterday, anyone who wanted to could have brought up the deal, but didn't, shows there is no issue here. Yes Arshavin could give us the experience to lift us back into the top 4, which is why we got him in the first place, and yes, the deal has been approved by the FA. So get over it |

The clubs are protesting that the deal wasn't even completed before the deadline as no confirmation came from either club until hours after the deadline. Chasing Arshavin for 4 weeks you would have though Arsenal would have said something the moment they had his signature. Also, get over what exactly?....

This is my last comment on the matter. I was watching Skysports and confirmation a deal was struck was announced prior to 5pm, and a reporter outside the FA headquarters announced the paperwork had been sent...end of! Get over the fact that the deal was done and that the FA publicly approved it and there's no point in b1tching. Typical yid
