for me we need to improve defensively, this is clear

but for the time being, a we will score one more than you philosophy is what will get is into the champions league.

arshavin will certainly help us, but we still need to add to this in the summer if we are to improve

Having more of the ball and forcing the opposition to defend is the best form of defense.

Arsenal were facing a storm of controversy last night after Andrey Arshavin completed his £12million move nearly 24 hours after the transfer window shut.

The Premier League confirmed some of the paperwork was submitted after Monday’s 5pm deadline – but they still rubber-stamped the transfer.

It is likely to enrage other clubs as it is now clear the Football Association and the Premier League bent the rules to push the deal through.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill will be furious Arsenal have managed to secure the deal in their battle for the Champions League places

We've only let in 3 goals in the last 7 games, but only scored 9 (3 against Plymouth and almost all thanks to RVP). I'd say that gives the impression our attack is suffering right now, not our defense. Our defense has improved with the tighter efforts of Djourou, Toure, Gallas, Denilson and Diaby in recent weeks.

Good point, and having Arshavin, along with Walcott, Silvestre, and Cesc returning in the next few weeks...it will hopefully lift us into a late charge back into the top 4.

MON is well within his rights to complain.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I disagree, as the FA approved the deal, and as everyone who thinks otherwise conveniently forgets YOU CAN SEND A MAIL CONFIRMING AN AGREEMENT HAS BEEN MADE BETWEEN 2 CLUBS, PRIOR TO THE TRANSFER DEALINE, AND STILL SUBMIT THE PAPERWORK AFTER THE DEADLINE.

So, there was nothing done outside the rules, hence the FA approved the deal, the Premier league are happy, so MON has no case, and absolutely no reason to moan. It's like me complaining I don't want Quaresma playing for Chelsea...I may not like it, but it's tough. No case.

Aston Villa have one of the smallest squads in the league, so they should have taken the opportunity to bolster it.

you gooners make me laugh...

you say arsenal are the most honest and respected club in the world yet when someone questions whether usmanov influenced zenit to sell at a lower price or whether arsenal completed the deal after the transfer deadline you tell them to sheep off

btw MON has every right to complain, if it was aston villa that bought a star player illegally that helped them secure 4th spot im sure wenger would bitch about it for years and all you arsenal fans would start thread after fucking thread about how aston villa are cheaters

When have any Arsenal fans said we have the most honest and respected club in the world? Fact is George Graham got done for bungs in the 90's, so NO gooner that knows the history of the club would ever say that...making that comment quite laughable fella

Secondly, the FA and Premierleague say it's all above board...the FA govern such transfers, hence as I said earlier, there is no case, and it was not illegal or the FA wouldn't have sanctioned it DOH :clown:

Biased drivel fella, and you've just been owned on both counts

Arsenal arent Man Utd who break rules ok so take that back because Arsenal football club is the most respectful club in world football.
i think that answers point 1 , you can thank homer for that

and point 2, arsenal completed the signing of arshavin after the deadline, that is a fact. whether it was legal or not is debatable. the FA approved west hams transfer of tevez so i wouldn't take their word as the gospel, but your right we dont know anything yet but it is suspicious.

biased drivel? i dont think so
