Carlos Tevez is a big game player :smoke: is Berbatov? I cant ever remember him doing anyway in the big games regardless of what side he is playing for. Anyone who thinks Tevez has no ability is kidding themselves and I suggest you look at his goals before you start slagging him off.

Berbatov scored against you lot at the Emirates, scored against United, and scored against Chelsea around 5 times since joining Spurs. Nice one Homer.

But yes, Tevez is better suited to the crunch games, 6 of 38.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Tevez also played against Liverpool and contributed about as much as Berbatov.

Anyway, apart from his hat-trick against the worst defensive side in the PL, he's been sub-standard this season, and was far from our third most important player last season :hysterics: Ronaldo, Rio, Brown, Evra, Vidic, Carrick, for starters. Tevez couldn't buy a game towards the end of last season and back then we didn't even have Berbatov, which speaks volumes.

Tevez is all-action, work ethic, tireless running, but that does't guarantee a starting place at the European Champions. MANYOU is right in everything he says. Tevez showed yesterday great strength, awareness, pace, skill and composure...but you're kidding yourself if you think that will happen on a regular basis. He was unleashed yesterday like a dog that had been tied to a lampost for weeks, so wait until he performs consistently before branding him world class.

Berbatov definitely adds something and if you can't spot it you're either not watching United games regularly (Homer & Phil), or you're not watching closely enough. Berbatov creates space brilliantly and like I keep saying, time and time again, he gets in between the two banks of four like no other, and this has and will continue to help us against teams that park the bus. All Berbatov is lacking is real conviction and selfishness when bearing down on goal, because his link-up play is stunning, defenders can't get near him and he brings an air of calm and fluidity into our attacks. We create a hatful of chances when he is on that pitch. Tevez can be a monster but normally he his corner-flagging shots or rushing passes, he is a limited footballer but has certain attributes that make him an industrious and useful player I'll admit.

We have umpteen double winners in the squad though, Tevez contributed well scoring vital goals but what does he bring to the table apart from the odd goal or four, he doesn't do enough thinking, rushes into everything and deserts whoever he supposed to be partnering up front.

Berbatov links well and brings something different out of the team, just wait until Paul Scholes gets involved in this and we will be such an incisive team.

i watched nearly all our home games live last season mate, and the crowd responds to tevez more than they'll ever do for berbatov, tell me 76.000 are wrong

Hard-working players are always fans favourite, don't talk bollocks.

Fergie picks Berbatov, tell me the most succussful manager of all-time is wrong

I have to go now but will respond later. Homer, don't give me this short memory codswallop when you want Wenger out.

we can debate berbatov all we want the thing is you can't judge a player on the small amount of games he's played, we'll see how good or bad he's made us at the end of the season,
fergie does and will continue to make mistakes with players, its part of management, remember him releasing jaap stam and regretting it, maybe they'll be another player he'll regret letting slip through his grasp come summer

What will the attacking formation be on Saturday do you think?

you can never second guess fergie, maybe it will be rooney and berbatov, but tevez or even wellbeck will play some part, thats the importance of having several strikers, injuries, loss of form, suspensions, means everyone gets a lot of games and will contribute, remember ole and teddy in 99

It doesn't matter what attacking formation you play you'll still put 5 past that shambolic Sunderland defence.

Yes when he was at Spurs when he was their man vocal point but now you wont see him doing that at Man Utd because there are other more important players.

Oh and Homer, your original comment included Spurs. Taxi.

You claimed Berbatov was awful in big games regardless of who he played for, I proved you wrong but we'll sweep it under the carpet don't worry :D
