Fran Merida looked good. The way he carved his way throught the Burnley
wall was memerising. Not an easy thing to do last night, they packed
their defence.

Why are some so harsh on the team. With better finishing..... Their goalie
had a great game worse luck.

Just to point out that Burnley beat Fulham and Chelsea at SB, so they are
no mugs. They weren't going to roll over like Sheffield and Wigan!

Anyway will shut up now otherwise will get another I am old fashioned off of
Homer.

Merida did look good. A young lad but seems to have the fire in his belly that certain Arsenal players lack. Seemed a bit petulant but character is needed if you want to succeed in football.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Merida will make a fine pro, but I don't think it will be here. Ramsey is better, as are Denilson and Cesc...
I am soft.

It was good experience for the young ones, and has exposed the fact that Arsenal needs more development of the youngsters in terms of defensive skills.

Secondly, it highlights how crap Bendtner is...

So all in all I'm not too disapointed.

Benthner is useless Kay and it is all his fault. They made the goalie look better than he was because those shots were pathetic.

Agree that some of the shots were bad, considering each time a player was right
through.

Bendtner - the jury is out on that one. He does blow hot and cold.

However as someone said, if you stick a reserve side out against a team
like Burnley who had already beaten Fulham and Chelsea, it wasn' that
much of a surprise they lost.

Yes feel it might have gone the othe way if we had scored. We are all
disappointed but remember some young players have shown enough to be considered as potential for the lst team over the next 2 seasons.

He's worth no more than 13M at his age but would be a terrific addition.

He's just what Arsenal need, experience, grafter, bit of leadership and he'll be cheap and willing to move imo too.

1. He's over 30.
2. Villreal valued him at 25M in the summer did they not?

I reckon he'd cost less than 20m, and that's cheap in reality when players like Robbie Keane costs 20m. He is 30 yeah but that's what Arsenal need. I'm unsure of his buy out clause but it won't be too much.
