I think Gallas made a few good points about younger players respecting the more experienced members of the squad. But the younger players need to be told who the leaders are and follow orders-Wenger should have made it clear that Toure was the organiser and told every player to follow his on pitch defensive orders.

On the other hand it could be a leadership problem-there was no backchat until Henry became captain.Vieira and Adams were strong captains and natural leaders and commanded respect.

The other point that is significant is that we don't have the money to buy expensive players. The only way to tempt youngsters is to pay more than other clubs eg as with Ramsey. This inflates our wage bill.

I also think we need to get rid of the troublemakers and stop buying anymore. RvP has a poor reputation and I believe Ade threatened to go on strike at Monaco. The squad also needs to be trimmed-of average players like Bendtner and Senderos permanently. Better to have 1 world class player picking up their combined salaries and helping us win something.

Gallas is correct about the type of attitude we need-I just think the players would be more naturally inspired by a true gunner and leader like Gilberto :( . Gallas doesn't have that aura the Adams and Veiira had.

If Wenger does go, it could mean a mass exodus of a lot of our better players. The real question is-who would we replace him with? My first choice would have been Scolari. Rikjaard is an obvious candidate but not many coaches have the experience and profile we need to attract top players. Also, how many coaches would work with such a small cheque book?

Gallas 's outburst might inspire the players to prove him wrong and win something to spite him as much as anything else. I certainly hope so and I believe it can be done. Until then I will be content for Wenger to see out his contract until 2011,watch the club become more financially sound and hopefully see some of our younger players fulfil the promise they have shown. i hope by then the club will be in a better position than it was when Wenger arrived..........

Homer, turn the caps off and chill out will you.

The point is Jeebus, for all Wenger's genius and for all the memories he's given Arsenal down the years, there is no room for sentimentality. He is clearly not taking the club forwards and his mistakes are obvious, as is his stubborness.

You can't blame Gooners for contemplating change, but you can blame them (not DaG) for disrespecting Arsene.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Mourinho?.....But your nice football would dissapear and crowds will start chanting "Boring boring Arsenal" again. Do you really want that?

I dont mind, I miss that chant but for Arsenal fans watching lovely football for 10 years id imagine watching efficient football would be quite hard to digest.

Our beautiful football wouldn't disappear, Inter are playing some good stuff this season. It was about the players Mourinho had at his disposal. It was far easier to go uber defensive rather than attacking...

But do you think Mourinho will let the players express themselves and have the freedom on the pitch Wenger allows?

No way will they, he will have them compact, well drilled. There is no way the team would play the same way IMO.

its hard to get the best players in the world when you are at the richest club in the world with your owner encouraging you to play expansive football eh?

If Wenger goes Arsenal need Pellegrini.

He has a good philosophy for good football and he is a way better manager than Wenger will ever be, The players at Arsenal would pick up where they left off really.

Obviously a lot of players are at Arsenal for Wenger and what he will teach them, They will leave for sure but I would say Pellegrini or maybe Spalletti would be the ideal candidates
