Lampard and Gerrard aren't really improving for England are they?

Although Lampard is playing brilliantly for Chelsea...

If Scholes returned to the England set-up like McClaren and Capello begged him to do, I doubt he'd have a bad game.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Well England have won their last 5 matches but in comparison to the rest of side's improvement under Capello, I don't think either of them are improving that much.

But it doesn't really matter as we're winning matches under Fabio.

How many games has Gerrard played for Capello? 'Cos it seems every time England win against a half decent side Gerrard is not even in the side. Gerrard is not improving under Capello, I'd love to see the basis behind that post, you've only included him in the improving catagory as you don't have the heart to put him in the going backwards catagory.

Gerrard is still coming to terms with how to be more disciplined at international level but seems to have been given simpler instructions by Capello when Lampard is in the same team.
There were encouraging signs against Belarus when he scored a blinder and hit the post, particularly as he and Lampard seemed to struggle with their positioning in the previous game against Kazakhstan.
