Kenwyne Jones can be a world star. That's the verdict of Trinidad coach Francisco Maturana after the Sunderland striker scored his third goal in as many games against Cuba last night. Fellow Sunderland man Dwight Yorke got on the scoresheet, helping Trinidad to a 3-0 victory and a place in the World Cup Concacaf qualifying group.

Maturana insisted: "I believe Kenwyne Jones has the capacity to be one the best forwards in the world. He is a rock, it's been years since I last said that about him. Physically, he is the best, I see no competitors. The coaches say he is improving technically and his finishing is getting better each session. Kenwyne is gold to Sunderland and obviously, toTrinidad. Any club would be lucky to have him. "

He looked like a freak of nature against Blackburn...absolute monster. He has that part of his game but how much better technically/more aware can he become? He's 24 and those things usually come naturally.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

He has that prescence that Drogba has no doubt about it and considering he is far younger he has time to improve on his finishing skills which no doubt he does need to work on.

I wouldn't say Drogba was as good as Jones at that age.

Both you and Scholes have a point. Jones should have the technical ability at 24 but Drogba didn't, and look at him now. I think if he works on his game really hard he could be an amazing player. Whether thats a good thing I don't know, because he'll be off to another club!
