What are your thoughts? [dohtml]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cGYNk90aWe8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cGYNk90aWe8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/dohtml] For once I am totally with Steve Claridge. There are so many issues to take into account - loss of Derby games, whole new complexion on Prem, tradition/history undermined, and as exciting as United vs. Madrid would be, the novelty would wear off. These crunch games should be special and rare occasions, not normality. Discuss. |

We've got the Champions League for such occasions. No need for a super league, if every week was United vs Barca and Arsenal vs Madrid it wouldn't be special and would just be any ordinary league game. |

Once the maglev trains are fully developed in say 10-20 years, a world competition might not be out of the question. No league like this will ever happen under today's transport methods. 2 flights to Russia and Italy per week for instance wouldn't work. |

I think Diego has it, the most likely evolvement of tournaments is the CL and Copa Libitadores + other continental comps being merged. The concept of a annual super league thing is just not gonna work for the many reasons mentioned above, derbies will be lost. I suppose in the end the cluster of fixtures would be too much and it depends on whether people want cup or league format? Depending on how fixtures work out id like to see 4 groups of 8 teams in the CL, only the best of the best go through and there would also be a lot of tasty clashes between giants of Euro football. Scrap the 2nd knockout stage which does end up throwing up teams like Olympiakos and Fenerbache and pretenders like Inter Milan who aren't really the cream of the crop imo. |

He's thick as shit...just happens to have a good sensible view on this fragile issue. The childishness is still evident in this vid when he says ''he's just rebelling now, he get's to this stage, but because he's losing, he just doesn't care anymore'' |

He has a moany voice because he's literally always moaning...usually without reason. He needs to take a leaf out of Ray Wilkins book. He knows how to do his job, calmness personified and can debate issues properly. Claridge acts like a spoilt kid and instead of taking other people's views on board and counter-arguing (giving reason and explaining his opinion), he instead says things like 'you don't know what you're talking about'/'it's easy from the comfy seats'/'he's just rebelling now because he's losing'..... The same applies to you at times too. No argumentative skills - resort to insults/comments that bear no relevance instead of putting your point across and proving someone wrong. |

Ray Wilkins is a fucking bias dickhead. |

He is pro-Chelsea like you but also appreciates the great team that is Manchester United. Plus he loves Paul Scholes so that doubles my estimation of him

They are the two best teams in world football based on the last 2 seasons. |
