The guy was brilliant tonight. Good attitude, defended very well, and showed some urgency. After going one nil down the guy was every where, defended then got into Spurs box to make something happen.

I truly believe he is a good captain. It is just that the players around him are mentally weak. What can he do with mentally weak players? He knew after Brum we would crumble. Something needs to really change at the club.

He had a tantrum at the end. He had the 'crybaby' look on him as he left the pitch. So funny.

But with regards to Gallas, good defender in my opinion.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

So many people look at Gallas but I just realized they need to lok at the players around him. Gallas is a winner, and a brilliant defender. He knows what to do on the pitch but his players are too immature and mentally fragile.

Put some more experience next to Gallas and this team can go somewhere...

He looked like he was throwing another tantrum walking into the tunnel.

The players at Arsenal are mentally weak in a way but it's not their fault, they are surrounded by other youngsters who have yet to experience certain scenarios that will arise.

Silvestre is a good addition but Arsenal need experience, players who have been there and done that.

Wenger is quite the optimist thinking this squad can challenge for several trophies, he needs to wake up and buy experienced players who will help the players progress mentally ON THE PITCH.

Wenger can only take them so far on the training ground and from the bench.

Gallas is immature himself so i cant see how he will help a group of players develop a strong, professional mindset.

Gallas has the perfect mind set. He just needs more old heads around him that wont crumble under adversity...

I think we are talking about different players, the Gallas ive been watching for the last 5 or 6 years is always bitching and moaning at his teammates and when things go against him he gets very angry and is then obviously not fully focused.

He looks a bit mentally unstable if you ask me.

And its normal for players to crumble when they are led by a wally like Gallas.

Yeah.....the perfect crybaby mindset.

He's a liability and so what if he played well tonight, he's been shit since before this season has started. He's no leader or motivator. I miss Tony Adams, now there's a farking captain.

Gallas had every right to be a cry baby and everyone else was so dont give him shit. He was very good tonight just like a couple of otheres were but like always you get idiots who ruin it for you.

He is nothing without John Terry to guide him.

I'm sorry but I truly believe that.

When he was at Chelsea I thought he was World Class. But watching him for France he was never as good, and now, for Arsenal he's not living up to the reputation he earned at Chelsea.

I think he needs someone like JT to lead him, rather than having to be the leader himself.

Why don't they give the captaincy to Fabregas??

edit: I just read the unbelievable posts slating Fabregas! OMG!!

Gallas is a good defender but as a leader he is pathetic, when things werent going well did he try to rally the troops? no he didnt, he sat back and sulked... you could see it in his body language... then when Arsenal got back into it he started to enjoy the game but in the end he ended up sulking again...

you dont really need a captain that is only interesting in trying when things are going well

He lead by example last night with a top performance but that is where his captaincy qualities end. He has to get the best out of his other players and it seems like he lacks the know how to do that. His tantrum at the end did make me chuckle though. :D
