better than brazil 1970 and argentina 1978, homer you arent old enough to say that, how can that arsenal team be anywhere near that level, and united 1999 and liverpool 1977 were far more superior, so too were united 1994 and liverpool 1984, and i could name many more sides which were better and won more, remember that side won 1 league title thats it, not even the best arsenal team for me that was the 1998 team.

Homer...

You are entitled to your opinion and I don't think you are far off; The Invincibles were a special team, but...many come close or even beat it in my opinion. That Invincible side didn't amount the same amount of points Chelsea did under Mourinho and Mourinho's side did well in the other competitions too.

The Invincibles only reached the quarters in Europe...

Teams that come close in the last decade or so -

Madrid (3 CLs in 6 years, star-studded side).

Barca 04-06 (Unbelievable football with the greatest player I've clamped eyes on playing for them...Two league titles and a CL).

United 06-08...well up there considering in both seasons, we were CLOSE to the treble!!! In 06/07 we had a goal difference of plus 58...Our midfield was Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Ronaldo with Smith/Park partnering/aiding Rooney...as you can see, a couple of ordinary players in there but what a side. Semis of the CL, after winning the first lef against Milan, 7-1 against Roma, title winners, goals galore, FA Cup finalists after beating 5 Premiership teams....what a season, did me so proud.

07/08...more stars, more mental strength, Rio and Ronaldo the stars of the show, double winners and FA Cup quarter-finalists (Damn)...

Milan in that time have also been great.

Mourinho's Chelsea...pure winners.

so he's saying a one title winning team is better than............

ajax(treble european champions 70s)
bayern munich(treble european champions of the 70s)
real madrid(multi european champions of 50's 60's)
nottm forest(back to back european champions and league champions 78-80)
liverpool(3 times back to back champions and european champs 80s)
man utd(3 times back to back champions and european champions 99-2001)
leeds united(league champions 1973)
ac milan(side of the mid/late 80s)

shall i go on, all above mentioned sides were head and shoulders above arsenal of 2004

and before you say homer i'm against arsenal, i hate liverpool more than i could ever hate arsenal but they had good teams of which i respected

I think you'll find it goes a long way towards doing so...

i'm not saying the arsenal side wasnt a fantastic side mate, everyone knows they were, but teams have to develope and achieve, something this side failed to do, if you ever get the chance to see a leeds united match vs southampton from the early 70s, watch it, it was a masterclass in football, they were actually trying to set up a player to score(jackie charlton)incredible and the best display of football ive ever seen

Talking of Leeds, Diego have you ever seen a player called John Charles? My Granddad says he's the best he's ever seen.

they were dirty, but believe me they had ability, players like bremner, lorimer, clarke, charlton, were class players but they could be both dirty and sublime, and thats from a man utd fan, you know how we love leeds

Amazing passing at the end, that was the highlight lol.

Just reading about John Charles, he scored 42 goals in a season for Leeds and in that same season he was appearing at Centre Half for Wales. Amazing.

yeah the clip didnt fully show the extent of leeds performance, the goal by jackie chalrlton was sent up, they were trying to set him up for a while before he scored, the passing at the end really blows apart homers 'dirty' theory, they could play too

The Invincibles were a special team though even though it was short-lived.

Amazing goal.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
