wheres andy cole?
wheres Dwight yorke?
les ferdinand?
teddy sheringham?

To be fair, none of them are going to win. Although Cole and Yorke is the second best strike partnership i have ever seen.

the best ive ever seen by a mile, and treble winners something no other partnership came come close to

Why? The poll is for strikers, so i'm going for goal scorers rather than pansy diving frenchmen.

Yeah, but they did have a lot of help from the best midfield United have ever had, and also had Soskjaer and Sheringham on the bench to help them out.

Winner.

what exactly did bergkamp achieve to put him ahead of shearer in the voting, because he was dutch and shearer english maybe, bergkamps good games were by far eclipsed by his bad ones

Well mainly because he combined so well with Henry and basically making Henry the player he was. I like to think about these things when picking a team, which i why i voted for Scholes and Keane. Partnerships all over the pitch are far more important than any individual imo and i dont think a Shearer/RVN - Henry combination would have worked all that well. It was between Bergkamp and Cantona for me and Bergkamp played with Henry and therefore would have been more effective.

The pansy diving Frenchman happens to be the best the Prem has seen :)

And well done GoonerPaul for going with your head, not your heart :smoke:

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Well if i just had to pick two strikers regardless of whether they could play with each other then it would be RVN and Henry. But thats not the point, its meant to be a team, not 11 individuals. Thats why it pissed me off when Essien got in the current Prem Dream Team.

I prefer to pick individuals. We'll never know how well RVN and Henry would link up but both were far superior to Dennis.
