Bergkamp is overrated.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

You cannot be serious?

Definitely. His cool temprement, his height, coupled with his angelic touch, make people drool over him, but in terms of contribution, he's not a patch on Shearer/RVN.

Bergkamp is way above a player that has been world class 8 years on the spin, prolific in each season whilst performing admirably on the European stage.

Now you know why I think he's overrated.

To be fair, this is only based on the Prem.

Homer's post was blatantly taking everything into consideration.

He was never the most gifted footballer but he did bring others into play as well. The fact is though, RVN always produced when it mattered most, especially in big games. Bergkamp may have been silky, classy and pleasing on the eye for a big man, but his contribution is far less than his reputation that's for sure.
