Only Scholesey has said that he thinks he was cliped before the ball, however tht was judjing by watching a poor quality video that definatly didn't alow freeze frame as has been mentioned, i't wasn't a penalty Ant, and the only red card should have been that muppet Robinho for rolling about the floor afterwards pretending to be injured, with one eye open watching what was going on...

All in all out I still agree that City are WORLD CLASS and you are probably the lest delusional bloke i've ever come-across.

Course it allows freezeframe, pause the vid and it's still crystal clear.

The foul (which after watching the slow motion clip 50 times I think was a foul) was outside the area like I said anyway.

Well your definition of freeze-frame is different to mine then. I think you mean you can pause the video? A completely different thing all together.

Anyway no-matter what it was Stiles obviosly isn't fit enough to keep up with play as he made that desision from 60-70 yards away withought even consulting the linesman, in my opinion that alone is poor refereeing to send off a man and give a penalty, potentialy ruining the whole game for Newcastle.

Anyway I have to dash, be interesting to read some of Ants humble and unbias opinions when I get back.

Here is one definition of freeze frame -

The image on the screen stops, freezes and becomes a still shot.

But anyhow, I was referring to pausing the video.

If the clip of the incident could be slowed down significantly, it would be far more conclusive.

As for your ref comment, I saw neither the ref's position or the passage of play leading up to the incident, so I can't comment on that.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

No one in their right mind would blame Rob Styles, simple as!

BTW, I am watching Sky Sports News and these so called pundits know sheep all.

It is their job to give an expert opinion and they simply aren't doing so. I've watched a fucking internet video and it is clear as sheep the contact that made Robinho fall was OUTSIDE the area. It's about time they employed people with sense and knowledge on these situations.

Well instead of accepting Journalism and pundit reviews, take a moment to actually THINK. It was impossible for Styles to be sure and only video technology gives us a glimpse of what the correct decision would have been. How Rob Styles can get blamed for this I'll never know.

Homer, not one so-called pundit or journalist have picked up on the possibility it was a free-kick...I've watched an internet video and the clip that made Robinho tumble was clearly outside the area. I've watched the same angle plenty of times and studied it analytically.

If you want to do the same, please do so - http://eplvideos.com/index.php?ind=videos&..._view&iden=1143

Around the 25 second mark is the most conclusive replay.

So not only wasnt it a pen but even if it was a foul(which it wasnt) then it looks like it could have been a free kick. :deepthought:

i thought at the time it was a pen, nothing changed my mind except for this, yeah outside the area, still a red card but a free kick, this is where the assistant should come into play

We were screwed by a bad decision anyway pen no pen free kick no free kick it was all wrong and the sooner vid refs come into the sport and cut out bad decisions that cost teams the better...

the problem with a decision like this,is its all down to interpretation, ive spoken to different people and there differing views, so in a case like this on the spot video evidence wouldnt work

Video technology would clear it up but not by the replays shown on Sky Sports. There has to be a feature in which you can watch the incident in massive slow motion (x50?) to be sure of which came first - ball contact or player contact.

I've turned my TV off now because watching Sky Sports just frustrates me. Their experts/pundits are incapable of deconstructing controversial incidents.

Steve Claridge was on setanta sports news and he was losing it saying that Newcastle were robbed off two points and a man. He almost swore a couple of times.
