Anyway Ant i'm going I see no point in taking this any further, City are a world class side with a star in every posision, yous deserved the win today as you showed your great supereority over us with a fantastic display of free-flowing attacking football against a bunch of players who were only mere spectators in the show that was Manchester City, I fully expect yous to finish in the top 4 as Liverpool are but mere pawns to the might of City.

Also Rob Stiles is a great referee, the one free kick he gave Newcastle in the first have was all they deserved and I applaud him for awarding what was a clear cut penalty.

You can now respond with some incredibly unwitty comment like 'thank you it's goot that you agree' and go to a dark corner where you can fantasise about Robinho.

Have a good night

He was last man.

Homer, get real buddy.

Being a ref is a tough job and more often than not they are right. In today's instance, the ref cannot be blamed as even slow motion replays are inconclusive! Put things into perspective, they have to call it as they see it and their positioning amongst other assets are to be admired. Show some respect :)

You've said it wasn't a penalty but as usual you've not backed up your opinion with any reasoning.

Perhaps you should go back to page 10, quote my picture and respond

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Ant do you honestly think I would take your bollox opinions over a man whos job it is to do such thing.

Sorry, but I'm about to blow that argument out the window.

Grahem Poll, regarded as one of the best refs ever, thought it was a penalty.

Defending a fellow referee, many others have said it was not a penalty.

Mute point. Poll gives nothing but his honest opinion, defending a fellow ref my arse

Scholes Grahm poll is the only man who has said such thing, obviosly he doesn't know the rules of the game as if beye got a touch (any at all it is a penalty), of course according to you it is immposible to tell whether or not he got the man first which means that Poll must have some form of 6th sense if you truly believe what you said. I've seen it about 5 times, he DID get the end of his toe to the ball and then Robinho tumbled over him, the rules of the game imply that if there is any touch at all it is a tackle, that was a great tackle.

He is not making contact with the ball in that freezeframe...inconclusive as far as I'm concerned.

As you can see folks this picture shows that the defender got the ball first before he got any of the man and for me that counts as a good clean tackle.

Well you're wrong, because he's yet to touch the ball in that picture, yet it is unclear as to whether he has made contact with Robinho's foot. Inconclusive picture.

I simply brought Poll into the equation in reference to your previous comment.

How do you know he touched the ball before the man. If I had to give an educated guess judging from the 3 angles I've seen, plus the freezeframe, I'd say he made slight contact with Robinho a split second before he touched the ball (both legs are so close if not touching Robinho in different areas on that pic). Either way, it's impossible to tell.

I know but I have seen it live about 10 times now and for me he gets the ball and slightly catches Robinho so..... Craig Burley agrees as well.

You need your head examining for blaming the ref I'm afraid. We are struggling to judge watching slow motion so how in God's name is he to be expected to be spot on watching it in real-time from a difficult angle.

My word.

Winner.
