I hear it only takes 2008 into account but if Ronaldo doesn't win it after 25 goals from Jan-May, instrumental in a PL and CL winning team, then the competition is a joke.

What's even worse is the fact Rio Ferdinand isn't on the list. I had him down as one of Ronaldo's closest contenders - he has been nothing short of majestic this year, leading us to PL and CL success, the latter in which he provided heroic performances against Roma, and Barca (x2). He is continuing his great form this season.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Ronaldo will win the Ballon D'Or, the only other candidate is Casillas, but the big one is World Footballer of the Year, which FIFA adjudicate, so Messi will probably win that

Winner.

Ronaldo should win this bearing in mind there are still games left in 2008 that could decide things he had been on another level to anyone in europe for the 2nd half of the season.

Even in 2007 he had a decent shout as he played arguably better as a team player that year but he missed out to Kaka.

His incredible efforts, helping his team win the PL and CL titles and scoring goals for fun every week must be recognised and rewarded this time around.
