Was Ronaldo right to appeal to the referee?

I am trying to get my head around the big fuss made about Ronaldo's actions. People often want a scapegoat but this was ridiculous. It was England Versus Portugal, not United Versus United; if you saw your team-mate stamped on would you stand there like a lemon?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

No he wasnt.

Ronaldo before the game headbutted Rooney and said I am going to get you and then Ronaldo got Rooney sent off and winked at the bench because he is a winker.

Headbutted? Get real. Just a bit of banter

The fact is, Rooney stamped/kicked out at Carvalho...that is a red card offense. Ronaldo has seen it and by appealing puts pressure on the ref to increase Portugal's advantage of winning. End of story. Ronaldo did nothing wrong; I'd be more worried if he said nothing.

We would have won that game if it wasnt for Ronaldo.

We would have won that game if it wasnt for Ronaldo.

1. How is that relevant to the question asked?

2. How can you be sure?

3. The same can be said for Rooney - ''We would've won had he not been an idiotic hothead.''

Look at the ref as he was never going to send off Rooney before Ronaldo came and then as soon as Rooney pushed Ronaldo the ref changed his mind.

The question is - Was Ronaldo right to appeal?

If Ronaldo had just stamped on Fabregas (red card offense), would you condemn Gallas appealing to the ref?

Yes or no?

If Ronaldo stamped on Fabregas I would want Gallas to appeal and get him sent off.

Yet when Ronaldo does exactly that for his country, you're against it.

One thing for Arsenal, another for another team...

I personally think the ref fucked that up, the red card was the right decision, but we should have had a free kick long before it got to that stage. You see Rooney trying to keep the ball but Carvalho and Ferreira(?) keep kicking him and pushing him off the ball.
