Sylvinho has taken the unusual step of announcing that if Celtic made an official offer then he would jump at the chance to move to Parkhead at the end of the current season. The Brazilian full-back's contract with Barcelona expires next summer and he knows that the Catalan outfit are unlikely to offer him a new one after he has become a fringe player. Celtic have been linked with a move for Sylvinho and he thinks that he could do a job for the Scottish giants and has left the ball in the Bhoys' court. "If there was an official offer, and we could agree terms, then I would be very, very excited about a move to Glasgow," he told the Scottish Mail on Sunday. "If there are people at Celtic who think well of me as a footballer, then I'm pleased. I still have a really good relationship with Barcelona and I love it here. "But I have still got a lot to offer in football terms on the pitch, not just as a squad member. Let's just wait and see what happens." Sylvinho is a popular figure at Camp Nou and is employed off the pitch as a father figure for the young players and a guide to the newcomers, despite his appearances for the team being limited. |
