Great Performance from Utd today. Rooney is back, he is decisive again and is everywhere on the pitch once he has Berbatov in front he sees passes and knows what he has to do. All his doubters claiming he is average are being proved wrong now and this will continue even into November IMO. Berbatov has added great fluency to our play in the final third of the pitch and makes the rest more involved he got another goals as well. Giggs was brilliant as well, his short range passing was quite good, defence was rock solid as usual and a clean sheet to show for it. Back in the top 4, six points behind (with a game in hand) and we are coming into some good form in time for some more difficult away games. Things are looking promising.

Not really, dominated the entire game and should have made this apparant much earlier on. WBA were determined but the result was fair. |

the first half was average at best, rooney was always a threat and a little unfortunate to have a goal dissallowed, however after ronaldo sealed victory it would have been easy to let up but we didnt and added a couple more, we are improving but need to up it a couple more gears before we can truely say were back to our best |

First half United weren't class at all, but 2nd half they were shit hot. Rooney looking very, very good, but I still wouldn't label him world class as he's been average for 2 years, it's gonna take more than 2 good weeks to convince me that this isn't just a good patch of form. |

i didnt understand why it wasnt allowed myself, but i think it was for a shove by Ronny on one of the defenders leading up to the goal. |

I wouldn't say he's been average for two years, just played out of position. Its like Micah Richards, a while ago he was looking as though he could become the best RB in the world, last season at CB he was very average. In the long run though I think Rooney will benefit massively because his movement now is sooo good. |

Rooney hasn't been average for 2 years ive been saying this for too long now, the man is a 2nd striker not a left winger not an out and out striker. He NEEDS a striker playing in front of him to see the story, look at him when RVN was here always involved in stuff and was linking great with him. Now he has Berba and its the same, before he had been on the left with Ronaldo on the right and Tevez playing up front, but Tevez was never up front was he? he was back trying to utilise the space Rooney likes to use. But Rooney had to do the job on the left while Ronaldo was given space and everything went through him, bad idea as he is as greedy a player as i have ever seen. Now everything seems to be going through Rooney like it did in 04/05 and he is the right man to be doing hat with he will spray the ball about much better than anyone bar Scholes. So many people called him average but its clear those people just dont undersand what type of player Rooney is. |

Obviously it wasnt a bad idea as the goals hes scored in the past 2 seasons will testify to the fact and that you have won 2 titles and a CL. |

Obviously i cant complain about what Ronaldo was doing but i think when Rooney is used in the right areas he can still help Ronaldo get more goals. I think Berbatov is the key, with Tevez he linked well but it was too deep and Rooney was uninvolved in the areas he should have been. Now although Berbatov is dropping deep as well their link up is much more attack minded and this brings Rooney closer to where he is most explosive. |
