Schmeichel was the best, Seaman, Given and Freidel have shown great consistancy in the PL, Cech, VDS and Reina are also class but they need more years to be put up with the others i mentioned.

Schmeichel along with having amazing reflexes and shot stopping ability had an undeniable prescence he wasn't afraid to come and catch any crosses.

No goalkeeper in PL history was so good at making himself seem big, Schmeichel even had a few unorthidox ways of blocking shots, he did whatever it took.

He posed an incredible attacking threat too, his kicking was great but his throwing was better and his understanding of Utd counter-attacking style obviously helped his throwing become such a threat releasing Giggs or Kanchelskis in an instant

There have been some great ones but there is a big gap between Schmeichel and the 2nd best keeper, he was that good.

Cant vote for anybody but big old red nose. Schmeichel was by far the best keeper the Prem has ever seen.

I said Given as he has consistently saved us over the past 11 years. He has also won a number of awards for his ability which to my reckoning ranks him alongside Shearer as a modern Toon legend.

As I said, a vote for anyone other than Schmeichel betrays enormous bias.

Spunky's one-handed off the line stop vs Sheffield United a bunch of years ago is the best save I've seen in the PL to date.

yeah thats the best save ive seen for a good while. he SINGLE HANDIDLY kept you in the FA Cup and im still not quite sure how he got to it.

but then how he gets chipped from 40 yards out on 3 seperate occasions is just as mystifing
