Harry Redknapp does not believe England U21s are up to standard - despite their 27-match unbeaten run.

Stuart Pearce's side booked their place in the European Championships with a 2-2 draw against Wales on Tuesday, handing them a 5-4 aggregate victory.

But Redknapp wrote in The Sun: "I look through that team and see good players, but no-one outstanding. I don't see our next Beckham or Rooney."

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I agree with him, other countries seem more eager to bring their top talent into the first team at a younger age which is why their U21's arent as good (imo).

I cant see any world beaters in England's U21's, plus that run is a bit misleading, cos they've never played any really tp sides have they?

Winner.

Our u21s are just as good as anyone.
Harry Redknapp is being a twat just because none of his players are in the team.

Any team that has Hundredstone starting for them are not good enough.

We have some pretty good above average u21 players

Jamie O'Hara, Milner, Agbonlahor, Fraizer Campbell and Michael Johnson.

I think the class ones are Micah Richards, David Wheater and Aaron Lennon. Jack Wilshere looks good enough to step upto u21 level.

It is true, its hard to pick out the would be World Class among them.
I dont think its panic stations just yet they look very good players imo and some may mature into very good players.

i think redknapp sums up the u-21 situation correctly, given the unbeaten run and the supposed quality in the team they should have hammered Wales but didnt, definite lack of spark in the team.

anyone whos top quality doesnt really play for the under 21's look at Rooney he started playing for England senior squad at 17 the 21's are more for the good players and the few quality players who are being kept out of the senior squad by top players like Rio,Beckham,Rooney etc.
