No Gerrard or Torres for at least 3 weeks. Good news (hopefully) for Arsenal.

Not necessarily becaue they're playing Man United, i just makes it more likely that United will pull away from you.

Gerrard i think will be back for that game though. And how dyu kno how long Torres is out for?

Most hamstrings usually take 2-3 weeks and Man U still have to win their game in hand to go 1 point ahead of Arsenal. The game with Liverpool will probably be tight so I'm optimistic until I have cause not to be.

Hamstrings are normally 2 months mate, Messi gets them twice a season :(

Depends if it's a tear or a pull as to how long the player is out. Interesting stat re Messi. Seems a lot of the great players have a weakness.

He got one in the 2005/6 season and was out fom February til the end. One in the 2006/7 season where he was out for two months and two in the 2007/8 season when he was out for 1.5 months each time.

Its sad, because i beleive, had he not been injured we would have firstly won the 1st Leg against United, and secondly Messi would have been comsidered the best in the world without question, rather than contesting it with Ronaldo as he does now.

Roberto Baggio was the worst for injuries, he was out for so long, even worse than Ronaldo (Luiz)

Not really fussed to be honest, don't rate him as highly as most and can't see him reproducing last season's goal tally unless he bags 6 against Hull.

Only had 25 minutes to express himself but in that time managed to screw up the simplest of passes.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

He is one-dimensional and doesn't have the ability to drop off in the hole and cause damage. That's why he's half the player Sir Thierry Henry was.

It's a shame Messi has been overshadowed by Cris Ronaldo. With La Liga underway it will be interresting to see how he performs in the new look Barca side. Don't know much about Torres injury record so it could be a long lay off as your stats seem to suggest.

Seems as if Torres has only pulled his hamstring so he's only likely to be out for a couple of weeks.

Yeah Scholes, I am starting to not rate Torres as highly as I did. I still think he is world class, but he doesnt do as much for the team. I cant see how some people say he is worlds better than Ade.

But Liverpool have looked terribly lost and predictable in attack with Torres, without him it will be worse. Rafa just doesnt know what to do....

Its because he doesnt miss as many, thats the only reason. People ignore the fact Adebayor does a lot more for the team, i dont think either are world class.
