You do know this can be a good thing...

Not a good thing IMO. Takes far too long and gives away possesion. Arsenal need someone who can pass quickly and is mobile. Alonso brings neither. His legs are gone....

One-touch football isn't always the way to go. Someone that brings serenity and calmness to a midfield is sometimes needed. Waiting for gaps and crevices to occur is a reason for not releasing the ball early at times. Football doesn't have to be bish bash bosh.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

He is definaltey better than Barry/Alonso. He is stronger than both, a better tackler, and better technically. Also, he doesnt take ages on the ball like Alonso...

He has greater tenacity than the two, that I will say. However, his passing is not as good as either Barry's or Alonso's because its less effective. He's less creative and has worse vision. As Elcule pointed out, if he were as good as either then another team would have at least presented their interest in him buy now. A waste of money imo.

We dont need someone with great vison, we have Cesc for that. We need someone who is aggressive, can tackle, strong, and a "simple" passer. Someone who can recieve the ball and just pass it short. Also, he can drive from midfield and could partner any of the CMs at our club...

Then you may as well have signed Cattermole, because he can do all that. There are quite a few players around who are better than Inler, that would do a great job at Arsenal: Velouso, Cana, Senna, Diarra, Toulalan, etc . . .

Yeah, Cana is my first choice, but he isnt availiable unless we pay 20M, which we wont. Same for Toulalan.

I dont rate M. Diarra. I love L. Diarra though, gutted he still isnt with us.

AC Milan have just bought someone like that...

However, when Flamini went, despite you just describing his characteristics entirely, you dismissed Flamini as an average player saying you could get better. By the looks of it, you can't.

But Flamini isnt tall enough. We need someone who is taller and stronger next to Cesc. And Flamini left us with many holes because he went forward too often.

I really rate Song and reckon he could be very good along Cesc too...

Well we'll see. I just think that Inler will add nothing to your sqaud and certainly won't create a central midfield as good as Man Utd's, Chelsea's or Liverpools'. Wengers penny pinching and cost cutting means that potentially your best area could still not be as good as the rest of the top 4.

We could have avoided this argument if you'd said that earlier. How long was he out for last season.

I too think Song would be great at CM, he was wonderful playing that role for Cameroon in the ACN, he can ditrubute well as well, which i think you might need as team may start marking Cesc out of game now they've realised everything goes through him.

Wenger seems to have his heart set on playing Song at CB though. Which i suppose isnt too bad as i like teams with defenders who can build from the back.

I dunno El Cule, I think Wenger seems to be back tracking from ruling Song out of CM. Recently he has been talking about Song as a CM. I think he can be really classy if he gets a run there. He posses everything we need in a CM...
