Papers are linking Utd with a £20m bid for thierry henry but its likely to be just a smokescreen with henry a certainty to start the CL qualifiers on wednesday.

so could it be santa cruz who is on the way to the european champions?

fergie has recently helped out paul ince by loaning him young danny simpson a gesture that would have gone down well with ince, so is fergie sweetening up ince before he swoops for his star striker?

i think he is on the way myself.

Maybe, he offers the type of striker play that we are missing and had a great season last year. But it was only 1 season, will he produce like that again - he didnt produce in bundesliga.

Also, his 18 year old brother signed for blackburn last week so that might be a valuable bargaining chip for Ince to convince him to stay.

true his greatest strengths are our obvious weaknesses, it would be nice to have a real aerial threat in the box.

santa cruz at bayern hmm..... well he only played around 100 games in 7/8 years and was always kept out of the side by "bigger names", he was a hot prospect at 17 and IMO was wasted at bayern.

last season was either a 1 season wonder or we are finally seeing what roque is capable of when given regular football.

he could only get better when paired with tevez or rooney which is another thing he never had at bayern or blackburn, a 2nd striker to supply him

Will he be given regular football though? Fergie will stick with Rooney and Tevez more often than not. He would probably play most games off the bench.

He would be a good signing, far, far better than Henry.

We really need 2 strikers, Berba bought and Henry on loan would be my choice. As Fergie says, we play best with 4 strikers and we only have 2. Campbell has potential but needs time, Saha might as well start packing, Fangzhuo I don't think really exists (has anyone ever seen him??) and then Rooney and Tevez. If we could get Berba and Henry, I would split Roo and Tevez and partner them with a new striker. The other option is to stick Ronaldo up front when he returns, we have plenty of mids and Ron has shown that he is a natural goal scorer!!

i would split tevez and rooney aswell as good as they both are, their size means it cant be as effective a partnership as a link up forward/target man pairing.

i would definately put ronaldo up front, IMO he is best as a striker he has developed a knack for making the right runs at the right time and he stands more of a chance of being a legend playing up front, he has the style of henry along with the instinct of RVN, great in the air too.

but the situation with him means that would be effectively a short term option, we will need a striker again when he goes.

Henry is still miles better than Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz was out of his depth at a big club. (Bayern)

Would be a good buy as a 3rd striker. But anything over 15M would be overpriced IMO.

Nice thinking ManYou. The jigsaw pieces fit nicely.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Santa Cruz would be perfect for UTD. Just the type of striker UTD could do with and dont have.

I thought they would really lack something when they sold Van Nistlerooy but they coped very well without him but i think now with Rooney and Tevez being your only 2 reliable strikers and both liking to come deep into midfield to take the ball you could do with some 1 who will stand up front and hold up the ball. aswell as some height in there for crosses and corners.

But if he keeps to his word he should stay at rovers and weve just signed his little brother and he may feel even more reason to stay.
edit my what? FACK OFF
