Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has blamed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for high gasoline prices...
Hoeness had a brief playing career that was cut short before he hit 30, giving Bayern over seven good seasons and scoring 86 goals for the club.

He is now their general manager and has attacked Russian billionaire and mysterious owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, for high gasoline prices.

"We have to beat clubs like Chelsea on the pitch. That would make amends," said Hoeness, explaining, "It annoys me when I go to fill up my car once a week."

The 56-year-old alleged that the prices have risen so that Abramovich can continue to earn a healthy profit to invest in his football club, which he bought in 2003. He also criticised the 41-year-old's alleged manipulation of oil prices.

Abramovich is Russia' third richest businessman, with Forbes magazine estimating his worth to be an exceptional $24.3 billion.
