Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso.
A Bola says Wenger is moving for Veloso after losing Alex Hleb (Barcelona), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos) and Mathieu Flamini (AC Milan) from his midfield this summer.

The Gunners have been paying special attention to Veloso since last summer's U21 European Championships, though Wenger won't consider meeting the midfielder's Ł20 million buyout clause.

Apparently Veloso is a model in his spare time

Would be a good signing, though he's more known as a passer than someone who can break attacks down, which imo, is what you need.

Winner.

Actually Elcule, he is known for his defensive capabilities aswell. He is a good tackler, reads the game very well, and does a good job of shielding the CBs. An upgrade on Flamini.

..i stand corrected

I think you underrate Flamini though, he was the perfect partner for Fabregas and had fantastic work rate.

Its the same with Hleb, once they've left Arsenal, according to you they're suddenly bad players

I rate him very highly and would be a perfect addition to the Arsenal squad and the ideal partner for Cesc. Hopefully he signs to further strenghten the premier league and give arsenal another dimension to challenge for silverware.

I never said Flamini and Hleb were bad player, I just think we can get better. Flamini is not the best partner for Cesc because he goes forward too often. It was a good partnership, but could have been much better.

But I think Wenger is leaning more towards Inler. He is also a very good player and a bit more aggressive than Veloso. Either of those players would be a good buy.
