Winner.

really happy with this, steed will be a good player for sunderland and now there is reid and steed in the centre 2 creative players, i hope that pairing works as well as it sounds.

a good player and i would say he is very similar in standard to benayoun good technique, good team player but not great.

so for sunderland to have a player who is as good as a near regular in liverpools team shows they are moving in the right direction.......well done keano

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

thanks scholes its good to be back, me pc was banjoed by a load of viruses had to get it wiped :redangry:

ye when i heard of the 4 spurs - sunderland signings steed was the one i was most eager to see at sunderland, hopefully he helps them become more of a passing team rather than hoofing it upfield like all newly promoted teams inevitably do, reid helped them overcome this partly when he signed in january, steed is only gonna improve things.

i wasnt overly impressed with keanos signings last season but i am this time round, hard to see them getting sucked into a relegation battle this coming season.

You share the same views as me mate.

I rate Reid, Malbranque and Benayoun VERY highly, although the latter two's performances have dipped when joining a better club.

Undisclosed fee, believed to be around 4m, bargain. You might see a win? I cant see Barca playing there just yet. :laughcry:

Yeah, ive noticed a few things. He is too slow, lingers on the ball too long and makes it obvious on what he is going to do with the ball therefore allowing the opposition to shield the pass, he has creat vision, he just cant pass it, atm anyway.

sometimes a player will linger on the ball when the movement from players in front of him is shit.

i agree he can look very obvious at times and he is slow but you dont have to be like lightning to play that role as scholes proves every week.

the main thing is he has the ability to take out a whole defence with 1 pass if the movement up front is good.

Yes, but its happening too often, maybe him getting caught in possesion is more to do with playing 4-5-1 with the lazy Murphy up front at the moment. He just isnt performing well overall and if it continues, we can easily replace him with Steed. :D

I find it funny that Spurs sold Steed yet are giving Jenas a new contract and maybe the captaincy.

Anyway, I think Sunderland may even push for UEFA Cup places. Watch this space....
I am soft.
