Liverpool are a striker light

Hertha Berlin 0 Liverpool 0

RAFA BENITEZ is convinced he will land Robbie Keane in the next few days — and it cannot happen fast enough.

Liverpool boss Benitez hopes to sign the Tottenham striker for £20million.

And the Spaniard does not need reminding of the desperate need for back-up firepower to Fernando Torres if this was anything to go by.

Andriy Voronin got another chance last night to prove he deserves a second season at Anfield. He hardly grabbed it with both hands.

The Ukrainian even missed a penalty — awarded after Kaka pulled him back — as keeper Christian Fiedler pushed his 50th-minute effort to safety.

Ex-Bayer Leverkusen striker Voronin is linked with a return to Germany after he flopped in his debut Reds campaign.

Rookie Daniel Pacheco, 17, showed flashes of potential but missed a sitter from five yards, dinking it wide before he realised he had been flagged offside.

Benitez said: “We are working very hard on transfers and maybe we will be able to do something tomorrow.

“Torres is back on Friday, along with the rest of the Spanish contingent and we will see the difference then.

“I thought both teams worked hard and had chances. It was a high-tempo game.”

Hertha produced some exciting moments with Sofian Chahed sending in two rockets that whistled just wide and Bryan Arguez going close with another.

Keane is 10 times the player Voronin is and would be great signing for Liverpool.

Does that open the door for Wenger to get Barry? I hope he doesnt pay 18M for him. 13M would be good.
