i've lost count how many times you've mentioned this and how many times i have then gone on to point out that our reserves and youth team have more british players than foreigners in it it terms of playing matches. That we also have a massive percentage of our reserves and youth team as local lads too. We of course are signing some foreigners too, personally we'd rather not be left behind the likes of arsena, united et al with your future potential players. We have signed players that are looking to be fantastic, in the same vein that arsenal have, the likes of pacheco, bruna and nemeth all looking superb. At the same time we have our british contingent with the likes of Spearing, Putteril, Lindfield, Darby, MArtin, hobbs, flynn and crowther all making regular appearances. Our reserves and youth is a mix, much like that of many teams and far more british in its contingent than the myth you keep suggesting. We are giving chances to our youth, plessis playing against arsenal and in a few other games last season, Insua has played left back for us in the first team on a good few occasions. We are bringing them through bit by bit. Fact of the matter is that when rafa took over our squad a few years back we virtually didnt have a youth setup thanks to houllier practically dessimating it. To have got to where we are in just a few short years and have some players making it through to the first team is a hell of an achievement. |

You do have a lot of British players. However you have missed the point that Rafa is bringing in more and more (infact, a ridiculous amount) youth players from abroad. They're all better than the current crop of local youngsters. My general argument in this thread is not at the foreign domination of our youth setups but Liverpool's amount of players in the u18's. Rafa must have forgotten how many he has brought in. |

we brought in 9 foreign playesr in 2007, 2 english and promoted around 10 british local lads from our youth setup into the reserves, at the same time we brought in a predominantly british group of youngsters through into the youth setup. Prior to that we had not signed hardly any foreing players into our reserves/youth, it was practically all british players in the youth, the teams that won the youth cup in 2006 and 2007 were nearly devoid of foreigners. Our reserves and youth setup has plenty of british and local lads playing in it, with a sensible mix of foreign talent in there too. |

I would define technique as being able to control the ball, i.e. to make it do exactly what you want, when you want; to make it dance to your tune. |

Lee Martin, bit boring from what I've seen. Hope Scholes comes on second half. |
